22 days left of school

Wow, this school year has definitely flown by.

Being in a new county and a new school and back in a self-contained classroom has definitely kept me busy learning everything new this year. After 33 years, this old dog had to learn new things. I also was required to pass 4 state tests in order to remain in my position for next year.

It has been a stressful year with all the demands of the job and my own Type A personality. I want everything I want done all at once and my expectations often overwhelm me. After 33 years of teaching I know what works and doesn’t and what can be done.

There is a lot to do between now and the last day of school. I have meetings on my students. I need to talk to my parents and help them get ready for the summer. Some of my students are transitioning to another classroom so I need to help that child emotionally so they are ready for a smooth and comfortable transition. I also have so many plans for next year.

I plan on keeping in touch with my families over the summer. I want to be a parent advocate as much as I can and able to while being a teacher. So many families need support and suggestions for their families to be safe and happy.

I will add more information to my Blog page over these next 22 days.
