It’s 9:23a.m. on Saturday November 7, 2026. I haven’t blogged in months. Personal issues have thrown me off my game. I apologize.
I will begin again today and hopefully can keep this moving along.
Teaching has become so difficult. Lack of money and staff put so much more on the educator’s shoulders because they are still expected to do everything as always ++. Parents play a crucial part of their child’s education. We used to allow parent into the schools, but now due to so much danger those allowances have been forever changed.
What can parents do now to help their children grow?
- call your child’s teacher. Ask what you can do to help your child. Ask any question you wish. Teachers cannot do their jobs without parent support.
- Home work doesn’t need to be a physical item that comes home. Cook and bake with your child. Reading the recipes, measuring the ingredients and enjoying the finished product is more than a sheet of paper can reinforce. Practice abcs, reading, identifying numbers, adding and or subtracting and please read with your child every single day.
It’s November. Your child has been in school for months now. Ask your teacher :
- Does my child have friends?
- How does my child play?
- What do they play with?
- What is their favorite subject in school?
- What difficulties is my child showing? How can I help?
We, as educators, are very THANKFUL for our families. Yes, you all become a big school family.
I hope this helps a bit. Have a wonderful Saturday.
