Friday Funday begins!!! You’ve had a packed week hopefully doing some really fun things.
Use today as a day that your child gets to pick what to do. Give some choices. You don’t want to be boxed into a corner where you promised something and then can’t deliver. That can cause a huge meltdown and we want to try to avoid that at all costs.Think of three things your child really enjoys doing and show them pictures of those three things. Have them communicate with you and have them choose. Use your choice boards and for those who are more more able to communicate, pick three things and talk it out. See which ones all of you will enjoy. If there is more than one sibling in the house and you need to accommodate, make sure you plan a place that has activities for all involved. If you’re feeling uneasy about going, choose a place that is free enough from simulation yet, large enough, where if your child does have a meltdown you’re able to wait it out.
