As I sit here and write this post I am so very grateful for my children under my roof right now. Sibling jokes, compassion, chats and the over flowing love for each other is very apparent. Many of my students are home this very minute longing for school. They hate the “S” days as we call them. They crave the consistency and structure that my classroom provides. It’s the safe zone.
I feel for their parents. They have loud children who don’t listen like in school. They need to be watched 24/7 because a home is not as safe as school. Siblings fight and get hurt. Families stay home. Embarrassing looks become too much to encounter. Parents don’t know what to do.
Keep this in mind today as you are home for another “S” day. Enjoy it. Have fun. Leave your house. Above all, be compassionate and be patient.
